Nombulelo Mnisi grew up in Kwa-Thema, Springs. She started to sing at school at the age of 10.
She has worked as a choir conductor at her church and was also a member of a local dance group.
Her ambition was to sing for a national Gospel Choir and her opportunity came in 2006 when she joined the Soweto Gospel Choir.
