In Loving Memory: David Mulovhedzi

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news that founding choirmaster and musical director David Mulovhedzi passed away last night.

He was a father figure to all members of the Soweto Gospel Choir and will be on the minds of both Choirs as they wrap up their European and Asian tours.

My thoughts and prayers for the entire Mulovhedzi family and beyond.

Thank you David.  You will be missed deeply.

We grieve with you at this time while the choir is on its Asian tour. The choir is his living living legacy and will continue to honour David and the Lord as they perform at The Concert Hall at the Esplanade in Singapore on Tue 22 and Wed 23 Dec 2009. I will be watching their performance on 22 Dec 2009 and hope to meet some of you, should you come across this message. You all gonna make David proud!!!!!

Yes, very sad to have heard of Mr. Mulovhedzi’s passing. A great man, everyone always said, with a kind, genuine heart. My deepest condolences to his entire family and every member of SGC, especially his son, Mulalo, who continues to honor and represent his father’s legacy as part of the choir. You guys hang in there!!! (Thanks, Elaine!)

my deepest condolences to the mulovhedzi family especially his son awelani – mourning the loss of a parent, friend, icon and a fallen hero can be very very draining emotionally and spiritually, therefore look to god through these trying times and he shall direct your paths and provide you with the strength to overcome this trageddy, i’m certain he will be remembered by many…
